Well I finaly joined the world of blogging. It is my intension to record my quilting journey here. I am sure life and family will make an appearance from time to time but this blog is first of all about my quilting journey.

This journey actually began in 1985, when I made a really basic one colour cot quilt with a boarder. The quilt was identical on both sides, I tried to match the boarders as I quilted in the ditch but failed. This quilt has polyester fill! I still have it in storage so no photo.
My second quilt, also with polyester fill is a 2 1\2 inch strip quilt in blues and whites mainly nautical themed fabric. This quilt is a UFO but one day I will finish it and use it in the car. This was begun in about 1995!

Then in 2005 I decided to make a quilt for our bed. Another UFO the pieced squares of this one are done just need to complete the appliqué squares. This quilt also has flying geese units which I had a lot of trouble with!

Seems like I have been trying to break into quilting for over 20 years. In 2007 I made the leap of faith that I could learn new skills in this craft and so my journey began in earnest. While these quilts remain unfinished I have completed a few. That's a story for the next post. I will learn how to add pictures for next time as well.

Keep sewing everyone,
Julie
